Introduction
Sharply Labs (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is the developer and operator of OVO, a music player for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share information when you use OVO and our other mobile applications and services. It applies to the OVO app and to this website.
Your Music Stays Yours
OVO does not require an OVO account to play your music. Your local audio files, your library organisation and your playlists live on your device and in the storage you choose, such as iCloud.
We do not send your music content to our analytics or purchase tools. OVO does not send song titles, artists, albums, playlists, artwork, local file paths, source URLs, bookmarks, credentials, searches or audio files to Firebase Analytics or RevenueCat. Analytics and purchase reconciliation are best-effort features and do not receive your music-library content.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us — for example when you contact us for support or send feedback. That may include your name, your email address and the content of your message.
Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying App Store statistics such as download counts, crash reports and diagnostics, depending on the settings you choose on your device.
Product Analytics and Crash Diagnostics (Firebase)
The main iPhone and iPad app uses Firebase Analytics for optional Product Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for optional crash diagnostics. Each has its own independent control in OVO under Settings > Privacy & Permissions.
When Product Analytics is enabled, Firebase Analytics may process a pseudonymous Firebase app-instance identifier, product interactions (such as which features are used), app and device information, and approximate or coarse region for analytics. The app-instance identifier is a pseudonymous app-generated identifier — it is not a person, an account, an email address or a permanent device identifier. When Crash Reports are enabled, Firebase Crashlytics may process crash and diagnostic information so we can find and fix problems.
You can disable Product Analytics and Crash Reports independently at any time in OVO Settings > Privacy & Permissions. Google processes Firebase data under its own policies; see Google’s privacy policy (covers Firebase).
Purchases and Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
OVO uses RevenueCat with an anonymous RevenueCat app-user identifier to mirror App Store purchase and subscription history and entitlement state, for purchase reconciliation and analytics. Verified StoreKit transactions remain authoritative for access to paid features.
When Product Analytics is enabled, OVO passes Firebase’s current pseudonymous app-instance identifier to RevenueCat as the reserved $firebaseAppInstanceId attribute. This allows product-journey events in Google Analytics (GA4) to be joined with the anonymous RevenueCat purchase and subscription records. It does not create an OVO account, does not change the anonymous RevenueCat customer, and does not grant any entitlement. OVO does not set a GA4 user_id, and does not use IDFA or IDFV for this join. Disabling Product Analytics removes this attribute from RevenueCat; enabling it again submits the current app-instance identifier. Because of this pseudonymous join, the Device ID, Purchase History and Product Interaction data types are treated as linked rather than anonymous.
OVO may also use Apple’s AdServices through RevenueCat to receive Apple Ads campaign attribution, so we can measure acquisition effectiveness and lifetime value. This may associate the anonymous purchase and subscription history with campaign attribution. It does not use App Tracking Transparency or the IDFA, and we do not use this data for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

App Store Privacy Details
Our App Store privacy disclosure reflects the practices above. Advertising Data is not linked to you and is used for analytics and developer advertising. Coarse Location is not linked and is used for analytics. Device ID, Purchase History and Product Interaction are treated as linked for analytics because of the pseudonymous join described above. Crash Data and Other Diagnostic Data are not linked. OVO does not track you as that term is defined by Apple — Tracking is false.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain and improve OVO, to respond to your support requests, to diagnose problems, to reconcile purchases and to understand how the app is used. We do not sell your personal information.
Data Storage and Security
Your music files and library data remain under your control on your device and in the storage you choose. Where we do hold information you have sent us, such as support correspondence, we implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
OVO can work alongside services provided by Apple and others. When you choose to use a feature that depends on one of these services — iCloud, Apple Music, the Files app, music recognition, SoundCloud, the App Store or an external stream provider — that service processes data under its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. The same applies to Google (Firebase) and RevenueCat, as described above. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the date above.
